Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Senior Field Engineer (Survey) in Houston to oversee survey operations, layout, and data management across multi-discipline construction projects in the manufacturing and technology sectors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 10–17 years of experience in construction surveying, proficiency with Survey CAD, DTMs, and UAVs, and the ability to supervise subcontractors and ensure safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering or related field.
10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes.
Experience with UAV/Drones.
Experience working with, supervising, and administering subcontractor’s workforce.
Must be physically capable to participate in project walkdowns and site activities.

Responsibilities

Lead in the oversight of all survey operations and overall quality and integrity of the surveying program, ensuring safety.
Provide technical direction to the direct-hire survey team and/or sub-contracted survey crews.
Direct the survey team’s implementation of safety, quality, and environmental programs.
Oversee the survey team’s implementation of the Survey Procedure (SWPP 3201).
Oversee training and development of survey personnel and mentorship for career development.
Provide Construction Survey support to Field Engineering and Field Supervision.
