Qualifications

• Two years as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Certification (CST/TS-C/CSA) or grandfather clause option

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room, equipment and supplies for the next patient.
• Anticipates instrument needs and passes supplies during procedures.
• Assists the circulating RN with sponge, instrument, needle, and other checks.
• Teaches and mentors new surgical technologists as department preceptor.
• Promotes professional communication and teamwork to improve patient care.
• Maintains sterile technique and supports department safety initiatives.
