Job summary

St. David's HealthCare is seeking a Lead Surgical Technologist to assume responsibility for a designated surgical area and to support the safe, efficient completion of invasive procedures.

The role requires coordinating supplies, equipment, and instrument readiness, and mentoring other staff in a fast-paced OR setting. You will help with turnover, maintain instrument care, and assist surgeons throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• 4 years of recent CST experience in multiple inpatient surgical specialties.
• Ortho Trauma CST experience required.
• Active CST and BLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support surgical technologists to ensure availability of supplies and equipment.
• Manage equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Prepare for each procedure and position the patient on the operating table.
• Maintain a clean, sterile operating room environment.
• Assist with instrument maintenance, sterilization, and turnover between cases.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and coordinate with physicians on preferences.
• Ensure restocking and ordering of supplies and equipment.
