Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care seeks a Lead Surgical Technologist to apply advanced sterile technique, anatomy knowledge and procedural expertise. You will coordinate the surgical tech team and support service line operations to optimize outcomes, under Surgical Services leadership.

Responsibilities include ensuring readiness of staff and equipment, guiding the team, and contributing to quality and cost-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technology program.
• National NBSTSA or NCCT certification.
• BLS certification required and current.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and care of surgical patients under RN direction.
• Ensure readiness of personnel, equipment, and supplies for service line operations.
• Act as peer leader during service line operations and provide guidance to the team.
• Promote safe, effective workplace practices and patient safety.
• Oversee inventory coordination for single-use and reusable items; track maintenance contracts.
• Collaborate with leadership and educator on staff education and competency.
• Participate in performance management and talent acquisition feedback.
• Identify outcomes and participate in long-term planning for surgical services.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and protect patient privacy.
