Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Lead Surgical Support Technician to assist in patient care alongside OR staff, anesthesiologists, and surgeons. The role involves preparing and moving patients, setting up equipment, and ensuring safe transport and turnover in the operating room.

Responsibilities include cleaning and troubleshooting equipment, coordinating with the OR team, and maintaining clear communication with all clinical staff.

Qualifications

• American Heart Association BLS (Healthcare Provider) required.
• Operating Room experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and troubleshoot surgical equipment.
• Handle OR turnovers and terminal cleaning.
• Position patients surgically under OR team direction.
• Prepare and assist with patient transport.
• Acquire needed surgical equipment prior to cases per surgeon preference.
• Assist with setup of equipment in operating room suite.
• Assist anesthesia provider in patient procedures.
• Move and transfer patients.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing and staff.
• Safely transport and set up post-surgical patients.
• Communicate promptly and clearly; respond to needs.
• Understand surgical procedures and equipment used per surgeon’s preference.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
