Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center in Palm Beach County is seeking a Lead Surgical Support Technician to assist with patient care in the operating suite. You will collaborate with OR staff, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other support teams to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety.

The role involves equipment preparation, room turnover, patient transport, and handling surgical gases, with a focus on effective communication and adherence to procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• Operating Room experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and troubleshooting surgical equipment.
• Operating room turnovers and terminal cleaning.
• Surgical positioning of patient under the direction of OR team.
• Preparing and assisting with patient transport.
• Acquiring needed surgical equipment prior to cases as per surgeon/case preference.
• Assisting with setup of equipment in the operating room suite.
• Assisting anesthesia provider in patient procedures.
• Moving and transferring of patients.
• Communicates effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing and ancillary staff.
• Safe transport and setup of surgical gases (nitrogen, oxygen, CO2, etc.).
• Describes understanding of surgical procedures and equipment used per surgeon’s preference.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
