Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in San Diego, CA seeks a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and optimize QA processes for a large electronics and semiconductor supply chain, ensuring high-volume, mission-critical hardware quality.

The role focuses on advancing APQP, collaborating across engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing, and moving quality checks upstream to achieve process excellence. Strong systems thinking and stakeholder influence are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• 5+ years of data interpretation and analysis to influence stakeholders experience.
• 7+ years of high volume manufacturing & assembly engineering of complex products in an automotive, consumer or aerospace manufacturing environment producing multi-disciplinary hardware products.
• 7+ years’ experience with complex quality management systems, and APQP.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality elements in Leo PDP within Leo's supply chain operations.
• Optimize supplier quality mechanisms for designing in quality into the supply chain.
• Lead the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools in the PDP.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, supply chain, and manufacturing to optimize Design for Excellence.
• Move quality checks upstream and eliminate the need to inspect quality into the product by achieving high process capability.
• Foster a culture of quality, improvement and learning with Leo.
