Job summary

Celeros Flow Technology in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to lead supplier qualification and development within its Westplain Campus. The role collaborates with the Global Sourcing team, Category Management, and Engineering to ensure quality across supplier programs.

Responsibilities include auditing suppliers, approving first articles, monitoring KPIs, leading root-cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree, ideally in Engineering. Will consider equivalent work experience.
• 3–10+ years direct supplier quality and external audit experience.
• ASQ CQE or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP knowledge preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify suppliers with Category Managers and sourcing teams.
• Support supplier through first article and first production batch approvals.
• Conduct new and annual supplier audits per QMS directives.
• Verify quality improvement programs for underperforming suppliers.
• Measure KPIs including non-conformance costs and LEAN objectives.
• Review MRB inputs and supplier NCRs.
• Chase down and action certification NCRs to closure.
• Data analysis of supplier non-conformance and root-cause actions.
• Participate in pre-purchase order review of key components.
• Attend weekly supplier calls and ensure regulatory compliance.
