Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer to lead supplier quality programs across automotive equipment. You will drive audits, RCCA, supplier development, and cross‑functional collaboration with engineering and procurement. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 7–8 years in supplier quality engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
• Knowledge of automotive components, manufacturing processes, safety and test requirements.
• GD&T proficiency and datum structures.
• Familiar with AS9100, NADCAP, and ISO standards.
• Lean and Six Sigma methods; strong problem solving.
• Experience auditing supplier quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between production, procurement, suppliers, and customers to ensure conformance with specifications, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and improve supplier quality manuals, procedures, production processes, engineering specs, and inspection plans.
• Communicate customer flow-down requirements to suppliers.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and source inspections.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions to reduce OTD, scrap, and rework.
• Oversee containment for defects and RCCA processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve supplier issues.
• Participate in MRB activities for supplier nonconformances.
• Evaluate supplier capability through data analysis and site assessments.
• Track supplier KPIs like OEE, cost, capability; drive improvements.
• Develop training for QC and buyers on problem solving and Lean.
• Travel up to 50% for development, audits, and resolution.
