Description

Directly supervise 4 or more Area Supervisors and indirectly oversee 45+ Cafeteria Supervisors and 325+ campus staff. Provide leadership on policies and procedures related to the Food and Child Nutrition program, including staffing, labor relations, compliance, training, employee evaluation, and public relations at the school level. Serve as a liaison between food service and campus administrators.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understanding, training, and enforcing compliance with best practices, laws, regulations, policies, and emerging technologies related to school food service operations, and communicating these to relevant staff.
2. Monitoring food, labor, and supplies purchases to stay within the annual budget. Analyzing daily staffing levels and making adjustments as needed.
3. Assisting Area Supervisors with disciplinary concerns, providing counseling and documentation for staff due process.
4. Maintaining and updating records for various programs such as Child and Adult Care Food Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, and others.
5. Assuming responsibilities of Area Supervisors when vacant.
6. Conducting annual performance appraisals for Area Supervisors.
7. Visiting campuses regularly to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
8. Attending workshops and seminars to stay current with industry standards.
9. Leading monthly meetings for Cafeteria and Area Supervisors.
10. Participating in campus kitchen construction meetings to monitor project timelines and address concerns.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Institutional Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Home Economics, or related field.
2. At least three years supervisory experience in the food industry, preferably in K-12 or nutrition-related fields, plus one year as an Area Supervisor.
3. Experience in school food service management, menu planning, catering, marketing, and promotions.
4. Experience in project planning and team collaboration.
5. School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credential preferred.
6. American Dietetic Association Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, or eligible desirable but not required.
7. Knowledge of policies, procedures, laws concerning employee relations and investigations.
8. Proficiency in Oracle, MS Windows, MS Office.
9. Strong presentation, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
10. Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations effectively.
