Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is hiring a SUE Technician IV in Fairfax, VA to perform utility designation using GPR and other locating tools. You will lead field crews, ensure safety, and maintain records and sketches of underground utilities.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card; familiarity with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is highly valued. This full-time role offers growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) is a plus
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to obtain DOT medical card

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain vacuum excavation equipment; designate/locate underground utilities; review as-built drawings and roadway plans; produce field sketches; perform records research; supervise crews; conduct monthly safety meetings and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor crews with a positive attitude; follow instructions; ensure accurate designation and locating of subsurface utilities; may perform basic equipment maintenance; demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Possess a valid driver's license; ability to obtain a DOT medical card; CDL is a plus; NULCA or other certification is a plus and willingness to travel for projects.
