Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Substation Project Structural Engineer to join a growing Power Delivery team. You’ll lead structural design for high voltage substation projects, including steel structures, foundations, and coordination with PMs across multiple offices.

Requirements include a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and PE license, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, STAAD, RISA, and related tools. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE license.
• 5+ years of structural design experience for high voltage substations.
• Knowledge of AISC-360, ASCE-7, IEEE/ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute structural tasks for substation members: steel framing, foundations, loading data.
• Design foundations: drilled piers, spread footings, piles and related analyses.
• Prepare specifications for construction materials and oversee QA/QC.
• Mentor EITs and Designers; coordinate with PMs and multi-location teams.
• Contribute to standards development and project reviews; travel may be required.
