WSP is seeking a Sr. Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join our East Energy team in Binghamton, NY, with consideration for Horseheads, NY and other listed locations. You will lead protection design, review relay settings, SCADA/GOOSE interfaces, and automation for capital projects.

Travel and client coordination are involved. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in power systems protection, EIT certification, and IEC 61850/GOOSE experience.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of post-education experience in electrical engineering, power systems protection and control.
• EIT Certification is required or in progress.
• IEC 61850/GOOSE experience is required.
• Experience in consulting environments is preferred.
• Proficient with engineering design tools and software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead protection design for capital projects and define relay functions per Client standards.
• Review relay settings, logic diagrams, and HMI/Goose data for projects.
• Coordinate area relay and assess changes in fault duty and performance.
• Support implementation, testing, and commissioning of protection and automation.
• Develop substation automation designs and SCADA point indexes.
• Ensure QA/QC and proper as‑built documentation.
• Lead junior team members and provide guidance as needed.
