Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer in Columbus, OH to lead detailed designs for medium to extra-high-voltage substations. You will manage schedules, budgets, and QA/QC while maintaining strong client relations. Hybrid work arrangement allowed with commuting to the Columbus office.

The role requires 7–10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with expertise in 15kV–345kV design and IEEE/ANSI standards. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in electrical design for power projects.
• Experience with 15kV–345kV substations and IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Proven project leadership across multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; works with engineers and non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality for assigned substations.
• Grow and manage relationships with local clients and stakeholders.
• Perform QA/QC for deliverables and support proposal development.
• Contribute to substation equipment specifications and studies.
• Travel to sites as required for design reviews and construction support.
