Job summary

PG&E seeks a Supervisor of Substation Engineering & Design to lead a team of engineers and drafters in delivering substations design work across regions. You will coordinate with Project Management to meet scope, schedule and budget while driving safety and design quality.

The role is hybrid, with on-site and remote work two days per week, and requires strong leadership, engineering expertise, and familiarity with substation and transmission design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• 5 years of engineering experience including substation/transmission design.
• Leadership experience desired (2+ years).
• Registered Electrical P.E. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 15–18 engineers and drafters to deliver design products.
• Promote safety and manage project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Coach staff and ensure alignment with project management practices.
• Develop and track performance metrics for safety and execution.
• Support adoption of new technologies to improve outcomes.
• Plan short and long-term production schedules with the PM team.
