Central Maine Power Co in Augusta, ME is seeking an Electrical Engineer Substation Lead to manage major capital projects across Maine and New York. You will lead design efforts, perform analyses, and mentor a cross-functional team to meet regulatory standards and project goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of relevant experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7 years minimum relevant experience in electrical engineering for substations.
• Theoretical engineering knowledge across planning, operations and design.
• Ability to document and interpret engineering documentation.
• Ability to review and approve engineering work for compliance with standards.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project engineering from scoping to project closeout.
• Perform standard and complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations.
• Develop conceptual designs and oversee external detailed designers.
• Ensure all designs comply with company, local, state and national codes and standards.
• Mentor and guide team; collaborate across departments.
