Job summary

The D.A. Collins Companies is seeking a Structures Estimator in Wilton, NY to prepare detailed cost estimates for bridges, structures, foundations, and marine works.

You will analyze plans and schedules to ensure accurate cost projections and collaborate across project teams. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent heavy civil experience, 5+ years estimating heavy civil work, and proficiency with B2W Estimate, Excel, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent heavy civil construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating bridge construction, bridge rehabilitation, structural concrete, foundations, locks and dams, marine structures, or similar heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with B2W Estimate, Excel, and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for bridge, structures, foundation, marine, lock, dam, and transportation projects.
• Prepare or review estimate quantity takeoffs, pricing, production rates, and assumptions for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, schedules, and contract requirements.
• Develop project phasing, construction sequencing, means and methods, and bid strategies.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing, identify scope gaps, and assess project risks.
• Conduct site visits and evaluate access, staging, utility conflicts, environmental constraints, and other project-specific challenges.
• Support Design-Build and Joint Venture pursuits when required.
• Mentor junior estimators and assist in estimate reviews and team development.
• Participate in project handoff meetings and post-bid reviews.
