Job summary

ServicePoint IT is looking for an experienced Structured Cabling Lead Technician to head CAT5 and CAT6 installation projects across large commercial environments in the Anaheim, CA area. You will supervise field crews, coordinate daily on-site activities, ensure safety compliance and quality workmanship, and drive projects to successful completion.

The role requires strong technical expertise in structured cabling and proven leadership in commercial construction.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in structured cabling installation (CAT5/CAT6) within commercial construction or enterprise environments.
5+ years of experience leading field crews as a Foreman, Lead Technician, Crew Leader, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards, installation methods, and industry best practices.
Experience coordinating multiple technicians and managing day-to-day jobsite operations.
Proficiency with Fluke testers and other cable certification and testing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct daily activities of structured cabling crews on commercial construction and technology deployment projects.
Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and project schedules to ensure efficient execution of work.
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure all work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT5, CAT6, and related structured cabling systems as needed.
Serve as the primary point of contact on-site for project managers, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Review project drawings, blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to plan and execute installations.
Conduct jobsite walkthroughs, site assessments, and pre-construction planning activities.
Ensure proper cable routing, support, dressing, labeling, testing, and documentation.
Train, mentor, and develop technicians while promoting best practices and craftsmanship.
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field issues that may impact schedules or quality.
Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite safety requirements.
Complete daily reports, documentation, and project updates as required.
