Job summary

ServicePoint IT is seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Lead Technician to lead CAT5 and CAT6 installation projects in large-scale commercial environments throughout the Reno/Minden area. The Lead Technician will supervise field crews, coordinate daily jobsite activities, ensure quality workmanship, maintain safety compliance, and drive projects to completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structured cabling installation experience in commercial construction or enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading field crews as Foreman or Lead Technician.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation methods.
• Ability to read blueprints and project specifications.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily activities of structured cabling crews on commercial projects.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and schedules for efficient work.
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, ensure quality and safety.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT5/CAT6 cabling.
• Serve as on-site contact for project managers, customers, and contractors.
• Review drawings and specs to plan installations.
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs and pre-construction planning.
• Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and documentation.
• Train and mentor technicians, promoting best practices.
• Monitor progress and resolve field issues impacting schedules.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Complete daily reports and project updates.
