Job summary

ServicePoint IT seeks an experienced Structured Cabling Lead Technician to head CAT5/CAT6 installations in large commercial environments around San Jose, CA. You will supervise field crews, coordinate daily site activities, and ensure safety and quality across projects.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong cabling expertise, and travel up to 50%. You will interact with project managers, customers, and field personnel to deliver on-time, within-spec work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in structured cabling installations (CAT5/CAT6) in commercial construction or enterprise environments.
• 5+ years leading field crews as Foreman, Lead Technician, Crew Leader, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards, installation methods, and best practices.
• Experience coordinating multiple technicians and managing day-to-day jobsite operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily activities of structured cabling crews on commercial construction and technology deployment projects.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and project schedules for efficient execution.
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure work meets project specs and quality standards.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT5, CAT6, and related cabling systems.
• Serve as on-site primary point of contact for project managers, customers, and contractors.
• Review project drawings, blueprints, and scope documents to plan installations.
