Job summary

Hillard Electric, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking a skilled low-voltage/telecommunications installer to lay out and install UTP, fiber optic, and copper cabling across diverse sites. You will test, certify, document, and QA each installation while coordinating with project managers and engineers.

The role requires leading a crew of installers in the field, with a focus on safety and quality. Familiarity with LAN, security, A/V cabling, and BICSI credentials are a plus; a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in low-voltage / telecommunications.
• Experience with LAN, inter-building backbone, security, and audio/video cabling.
• Proficiency with industry-recognized certification tools, test equipment, and processes.
• BICSI credentials are a plus.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in low-voltage / telecommunications

• BICSI credentials are a plus
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English; perform basic math; and distinguish industry color codes
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs, work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures
• Verifiable experience and character references required
