Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welding & Fabrication Supervisor for the second shift in York, PA. You will oversee welders and fitters, coordinate daily shop activities, and ensure timely delivery with quality and safety compliance.

The role requires supervisory experience in structural steel fabrication, strong English communication, and the ability to manage workloads and schedules. Overtime and Saturday work are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication industry and leadership roles.
• Experience leading welders and fitters in a shop environment.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work second shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct welders, fitters, and shop personnel.
• Coordinate daily welding, fitting, fabrication, and production activities.
• Assign work and balance workloads across the shop.
• Monitor production and fabrication schedules to meet deadlines.
• Ensure work meets quality, safety, and production requirements.
• Establish and maintain standard fabrication and quality-control procedures.
• Coordinate deliveries and communicate material or production needs.
• Collaborate with project management, purchasing, logistics, and other departments to meet deadlines.
• Monitor and maintain shop equipment, tools, materials, and building needs.
• Develop vendor relationships and monitor inventory in coordination with purchasing.
