Job summary

Water Works Engineers in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Professional Engineer (Structural Focus) to lead design of water and wastewater structures across the Western U.S., collaborating with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Geotechnical teams.

You will apply structural codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE), prepare calculations, drawings and specifications, and mentor junior staff while advancing pivotal infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• PE license in any US state; reciprocity in Utah or Arizona.
• SE license highly desired.
• 7+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably with water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to structural design of buildings and water-related infrastructure; prepare calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Serve as technical expert on structural aspects of multidisciplinary projects; collaborate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, and Geotechnical engineers.
• Prepare and review design documentation for regulatory approvals, permits, and construction submittals.
• Develop and manage cost estimates and structural scopes within broader project budgets.
• Perform or oversee QA/QC for structural deliverables per codes.
• Support construction phase services including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff; share knowledge for team development.
• Apply knowledge of current structural codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, etc.).
• Stay current with structural innovations and best practices to improve design quality.
