Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. in New York, NY seeks a licensed structural engineer to lead structural services. You will collaborate with in-house architects and engineers, manage projects, and supervise staff while coordinating with subconsultants such as QWRI and QEWI professionals.

Key duties include structural and wind load analysis, building envelope and equipment support, and development of contract documents. NY PE is required, with 7+ years of experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years experience in structural design and project administration.
• Professional Engineering license in NY is required.
• Rooftop PV and Dunnage structural analysis experience.
• Experience with NYC existing buildings and project management.
• Working knowledge of NYC Building Codes.
• Good communication and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Structural and wind load analysis.
• Structural support systems for mechanical equipment in existing buildings.
• Assessment of potential structural damage or defects in existing buildings.
• Analysis and/or preparation of models and calculations for various structural elements and systems.
• Contract document development including construction drawings and written specifications.
• Construction administration including review of shop drawings, RFI, and site inspections.
