Job summary

Z Modul ar is a division of Zekelman Industries in Troy, MI, seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of modular steel buildings. You will collaborate with engineers, designers and site personnel to ensure accurate, efficient structures aligned with project goals.

This on-site role requires deep structural expertise, code knowledge and leadership to drive engineering excellence and project success across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in structural design and analysis, focusing on steel structures.
• PE license with ability to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions as needed.
• Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, Revit and structural analysis software.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and steel connection design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of modular steel buildings and connections.
• Develop and maintain design documentation and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare structural plans, calculations and details for project execution.
• Mentor and review work of junior engineers and coordinate with teams.
