Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Leader in Structural Engineering to join our Fairfax office. The senior role focuses on leading transport structures, including bridge design and field operations, with strong client liaison and project leadership across Virginia.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Structural Engineering, 8+ years of bridge design, and a Virginia P.E. or eligibility within a year; a Master's degree and DOT/VDOT DB project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of bridge design experience is required.
• Virginia Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within one year is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead our structural design and engineering group across Virginia with delivery of assignments.
• Assist with Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure future clients and workload.
• Provide structural expertise on conceptual and detailed designs and prepare construction documents and costs.
• Serve as Project Manager on structure-related projects.
• Produce construction documents, specs, and cost estimates where applicable.
• Facilitate client meetings and approvals of plans.
• Act as liaison between client and firm and perform QA/QC on designs.
• Provide bridge inspections as needed and mentor junior engineers.

WE ARE HIRING... an experienced Leader in Structural Engineering to join our team in the Fairfax office. As a senior member of our Structures team you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation. You should have stateand municipal experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design and field operations.

Essential Functions

• Assist in leading our structural design and engineering group throughout Virginia with development and delivery of structural assignments
• Assist with Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure future clients and workload
• Provide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
• Serve as Project/Program Manager on a variety of structure related projects
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates is a plus
• Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
• Serve as liaison between client and firm
• QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
• Provide bridge inspection for clients as needed
• Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
• Hire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Minimum (8) years of bridge design experience
• Professional Engineer in Virginia (P.E.) or ability to attain within a year.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• DOT structures/bridge experience, including experience on VDOT DB Projects
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
