Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join our Boston team. You will lead structural design across diverse projects, mentor staff, and maintain strong client relationships.

A PE/SE license and a Master’s in structural engineering are expected, with over 10 years of leadership experience. We offer a competitive salary of $115,000–$150,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading structural engineering projects or teams across a variety of sectors.
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Licensed as PE and/or SE.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior management, clients, and staff.
• Confident, proactive character with a track record of taking the lead.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and design of structural systems for a wide range of building types in accordance with applicable building codes.
• Represent the team at design meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strong client relationships.
• Set a strong example of client care and general consultancy and support the regional team to do the same.
• Manage and mentor engineering and drafting staff while overseeing contract documents, drawings and specs.
• Participate in project technical/quality reviews and support business goals in the Boston region.
