Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates seeks a Principal Structural Design Engineer for the Savannah River Site to lead structural design efforts on complex nuclear and industrial facilities. Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years’ nuclear/industrial design experience or MS 8+ years or BS 10+ years.
• Must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.
• Familiarity with National Codes and Standards (IBC, AISC, ACI, AWS, NFPA, OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Define scope of technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges.
• Apply site systems to achieve quality, timely and cost-effective results.
• Provide guidance to less senior professionals on related tasks.
• Apply technical experience to resolve complex problems across multiple fields.
• Incorporate advanced technical practices and manage complex requirements for problem solving.
• Provide leadership and direction inside and outside department lines on new approaches.
• Evaluate program results and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Identify improvements where existing components are inadequate and stay informed on technology advancement.
• Prepare schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements; monitor progress and expenditures.
