Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd seeks a licensed Structural Connection Design Engineer (PE) in North Carolina for a 100% on-site role. Take ownership of in-house structural engineering, collaborating with detailing, fabrication, and project management teams on diverse steel projects.

Responsibilities include designing connections, reviewing calculations and drawings, and ensuring compliance with AISC/AWS standards. Relocation assistance is available and growth within a long-established fabricator is

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• Proven experience in structural steel connection design.
• Strong understanding of fabrication and erection.
• Experience with AISC standards and connection calculations.
• Ability to independently manage engineering responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Tekla Structures or connection design software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Designing structural steel connections, including bolted, welded, moment, shear, and bracing connections.
• Preparing and reviewing structural engineering calculations.
• Ensuring compliance with AISC standards, AWS D1.1, and applicable building codes.
• Reviewing structural drawings, shop drawings, and connection design requirements.
• Collaborating with detailers, fabricators, project managers, and Engineers of Record.
• Resolving engineering challenges throughout fabrication and erection.
• Developing practical, cost-effective, and constructible connection solutions.
