Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Lead Structural Analyst in St. Louis, MO for a full-time direct position. A BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 15+ years of structural analysis experience are required.

You will lead a team performing structural analysis, collaborate with the OEM to define scope, and drive the analysis approach while mentoring others and communicating across project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering is required.
• 15+ years of structural analysis experience in primary/secondary structures.
• Solid knowledge of load paths, failure modes, and metal structures.
• Strong hand calculations and FEM (Patran/Nastran) skills.
• Experience with Boeing stress tools and design manuals; leadership ability.

Job description

A Lead Structural Analyst job with Belcan Engineering Group is currently available in St. Louis, Missouri. This job is a full-time direct position. To be considered for this role, you will need bachelor"s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, and at least 15+ years of relevant experience.

Job Duties

• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers conducting structural analysis
• Collaborate with the OEM customer to define scope of work and establish a structural analysis approach
• Create and review structural analysis of others
• Maintain strong communication and positive interactions with internal project team and customer
• Oversee a team analyst to achieve project success

Required

• Bachelor"s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• Fifteen or more years of experience performing structural analysis on primary and secondary structure
• Solid understanding of structural load paths and failure modes
• Strong hand calculation skills and Finite element analysis capabilities (Patran/Nastran)
• Understanding and experience using equivalent strength methodology
• Static, fatigue, and crack growth analysis experience
• Mentoring or leadership experience
• Experience with Boeing stress tools and Boeing Design Manuals
• Must have good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent time management skills
• Legal authorization to work in the US required
• Travel occasionally as required

Preferred

• Experience supporting structural analysis of ducts
• VBA or similar programming skill set
• Experience using ENOVIA, LCA, and CATIA V5

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $145,600 to $187,200 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
