Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management and provide exceptional customer service. The role involves stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store appearance while following company policies.

You will assist with plan-o-gram implementation and ensure cash handling procedures are followed. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, processing transactions, greeting customers, and maintaining a safe, clean shopping

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe environment.
• Open and/or close the store under the direction of the Area Manager; sign for refunds and overrides.
