Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Downtown located in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Technician for full-time weekend coverage (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 10:00am–10:30pm). The role supervises Prep and Sterile operations, trains staff, and ensures sterilization quality in compliance with regulations.

Minimum 1–2 years of instrument and surgical instrumentation experience, linen processing knowledge, and CRCST or CSPDT certification are required. High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of Prep and Sterile, ensuring cleaning, decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Leads and trains SPD technicians, maintains quality control, and collaborates with SPD manager for workflow and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling and packaging of surgical linens, instrumentations and supplies.

Baptist Medical Center is looking for a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department at Baptist Jacksonville

This position is a Full-Time, Weekends position working Saturday, Sunday, and Monday working 10:00am through 10:30pm.

As a Lead Sterile Processing Tech, Your Responsibilities Include

• Oversees the day-to-day operations of Prep and Sterile, ensuring the proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies, while also leading and training other SPD technicians, maintaining quality control standards, and collaborating with the the SPD manager to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Participates in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning and assembling and packaging of surgical linens, surgical instrumentations, medical/surgical supplies materials and equipment
• Have knowledge of all types of sterilization equipment and processes they perform
• Understands principles of sterilization
• Wrap instruments/linen properly, while selecting correct supplies to be used for sterilization
• Able to collaborate and prioritize duties for quality and efficiency

Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years Instrument Experience
• 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
• Linen Processing Experience
• Knowledge of regulatory protocols.

Education & Credential Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required Or
• Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required Or

This Lead Sterile Processing Technician position will be located at Baptist Medical Center Downtown.

Primary Location: Downtown - Main Building
