Job summary

Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department. This is a Full-Time Nights opportunity with responsibility for sterilization workflows and instrument decontamination.

As a lead, you will supervise and train SPD technicians, monitor quality control, and coordinate with the SPD manager to ensure efficient, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years instrument experience
• 1–2 years surgical instrumentation experience
• Linen processing experience
• Knowledge of regulatory protocols

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day SPD operations, ensuring cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and supplies while leading and training other SPD technicians and maintaining quality control standards.
• Participates in decontamination, inspection, cleaning and assembling and packaging of surgical linens, instrumentations, supplies materials and equipment.
• Has knowledge of all types of sterilization equipment and processes they perform.
• Understands principles of sterilization and ensures proper wrap and selection of supplies for sterilization.
• Collaborates and prioritizes duties for quality and efficiency.

As a Lead Sterile Processing Tech, Your Responsibilities Include

• Have knowledge of all types of sterilization equipment and processes they perform.
• Understands principles of sterilization.
• Wrap instruments/linen properly, while selecting correct supplies to be used for sterilization.
• Able to collaborate and prioritize duties for quality and efficiency.

Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years Instrument Experience
• 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
• Linen Processing Experience
• Knowledge of regulatory protocols.

Education & Credential Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required Or
• Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required Or
