Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, is hiring a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to serve as a safety expert and team mentor. You will ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for procedures while guiding colleagues to uphold high-quality standards.

You will lead training, manage inventory, and maintain records of sterilization cycles, contributing to a safe, efficient OR environment and improved patient outcomes every day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST, CSPDT, or CST certification required.
• Previous sterile processing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care
• Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards
• Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure
• Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time
• Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high-quality environment where teamwork thrives
