Job summary

AbbVie in Chicago, IL seeks a Manager, Statistics to provide statistical expertise to R&D, including design/analysis of clinical trials, patient safety, and global medical affairs.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop analysis plans, ensure data quality, and present results; requires MS or PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics with strong programming in SAS, R, or Python. Immunology trial experience preferred.

Qualifications

• MS (with 6+ years of experience) or PhD (with 2+ years of experience) in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field.
• Proficiency in SAS, R, and/or Python, with demonstrated expertise in developing, validating, and implementing complex statistical analyses and simulation studies.
• Experience supporting clinical development programs, including clinical trial design and statistical analysis planning.
• Ability to independently lead statistical activities for one or more studies and effectively communicate statistical concepts and results to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials or other scientific research studies.
• Independently develop protocols and/or statistical analysis plans with details for programming implementation.
• Collaborate with Statistical Programming to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Develop strategy for data presentation and inference; collaborate in publication of scientific research.
• Work collaboratively with multifunction teams; explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
