Job summary

CBS, a part of The Donohoe Companies, seeks a Lead Stationary Engineer for a large facility in Gaithersburg, MD. The role requires an active MD-DLLR Grade 1 license and a current Universal CFC license, with CUP experience and 3–5 years in a senior engineering position.

Qualifications

• Active MD-DLLR Grade 1 License (First Class Stationary Engineer) and Universal CFC license.
• CUP experience.
• 3–5 years minimum as Lead/Chief Engineer in a large facility (~2 million sq ft).
• In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, subcontracted trades, and mission-critical ops.
• Computer proficiency and advanced knowledge of DDC control systems.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site operations and ensure task-order requirements are met.
• Serve as primary on-site contact between shift supervisors and contractor personnel.
• Meet with NIST shift supervisors and assign contractor tasks.
• Operate and maintain steam, water, combustion, chemical programs, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure safety protocols, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards are followed.
