Job summary

CVS Health Corporation seeks a Staff Pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations and mentor the team at a CVS location. You will ensure safe dispensing, provide patient counseling, immunizations where permissible, and support the Pharmacy Manager in daily duties to deliver compassionate care.

The role requires an active pharmacist license in the store's state and an active NPI, with no DEA exclusions. Regular hours include nights/weekends; benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same.
• Proactively offering immunizations to keep patients healthy and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing inventory with focus on cold chain products and protection of patients and business.
• Ensuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and seeking timely resolution for issues.
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs; assisting in writing the pharmacy schedule as needed.
• Maintaining clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs; expanding knowledge to support patients.
• Supporting access to care and pharmacist-delivered clinical care as permissible; enabling holistic patient care.
• Complying with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies to ensure safety and inclusivity.
