Job summary

Slide Insurance seeks a seasoned Staff Counsel in Tampa, FL to lead a litigation team and mentor attorneys. You will align with Claims leadership, manage high-exposure matters, guide discovery and trial readiness, and provide actionable risk assessments.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and active Florida Bar membership in good standing.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience, including significant insurance litigation and 5+ years handling Florida first-party property claims.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of mentoring and developing attorneys.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida insurance law, civil procedure, evidence rules, and professional responsibility standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation, evaluate risk, negotiate effectively, and guide legal strategy.
  • Trial experience, including jury trial participation; second-chair trial experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Staff Counsel, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Partner with Claims leadership to align litigation strategy, case evaluation, and settlement practices
