Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a Database Specialist to lead development and maintenance of Microsoft SQL databases supporting Inmate Services applications, education, recreation, and industries, along with agency staff data.

Focus is on data security, performance, and data integrity, with experience in large-scale online systems and complex queries essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 10 years of education and experience after high school.
• At least 3 years in systems analysis for late generation medium or large scale systems or networks.
• Must pass security and background screenings for correctional environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversees creation and modification of programs, interfaces, and documentation for inmate services applications.
• Develops and maintains data marts, cubes, views, and complex queries for operations.
• Audits data management adherence and identifies data anomalies.
• Directs database plans and system solutions for capacity and performance.
• Develops data security policies and backup/recovery procedures.
• Identifies and modifies software/hardware systems, integrating new systems with existing databases.
• Researches new data solutions and interfaces with internal/external customers for data needs.
• Implements user access monitoring and security alerts; provides logs for investigations.
• Reviews hardware/software utilization for capacity planning and funding timelines.
