Good morning!

Recently, we expanded our Extra Points Editorial Team to include a part-time editor. Today, I’m pleased to announce that we’re hiringagain.

We’re looking to add aFull-Time Writer to the Extra Points team. I don’t want to spoil all the details about the new content initiative we’re planning to launch (stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more soon), but I can share enough to start our hiring process. Here are the details:

Extra Points, a leading newsletter covering business, policy, and off-the-field stories in college athletics, is seeking a writer to lead a newsletter project on the “Money in College Athletics,” covering NIL, private capital, and related topics.This is a full-time, remote position.

Responsibilities include:

• Writing three newsletters a week, combining original reporting, analysis, and curated content on NIL, college sports business, and dealmaking in college athletics.
• Owning the editorial direction and voice of a new, standalone newsletter, shaping its focus, voice, and community.
• Serving as a thought leader in the college sports business space.

Preferred but not required:

• Contributing content to other Extra Points projects occasionally.
• Providing editorial suggestions or tweaks across other related projects.

Experience required:

• Professional experience writing about relevant issues. This is not an entry-level role; the candidate should be a self-starter, skilled at sourcing and finding relevant information. Experience in business, college sports, or related industries is preferred, but not necessarily in NIL or college sports specifically.
• Comfort working with a small team, collaborating, and being self-motivated.
• Ability to work remotely.
• Understanding of Extra Points and its audience.

Additional desirable qualities:

• Connections and understanding within the college sports business space.
• Experience writing for email-first audiences and platforms.
