Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science with 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Master's degree in science with 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by DOH/Office of Professions.
• ASCP Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work and daily operations of the Laboratory employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
• Provides Quality Control measures for test procedures; reviews and documents results; implements corrective actions as needed.
• Prepares work schedules, assigns and prioritizes work to staff; ensures adequate coverage at all times.
• Guides staff on policies and quality control measures; ensures compliance with accrediting and government agencies.
• Advises management of problems beyond own scope; organizes in-service meetings and continuing education.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
