Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is seeking a specialty cheeses assistant to ensure cheese preparation and display meet company standards, and to assist with catering orders as needed.

You will uphold food safety guidelines, coordinate with upper management on training, inventory and promotions, and contribute to a positive customer experience in a fast-paced retail environment. This role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1+ year related experience.
• Must be at least 18; 21+ to drive per policy.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop partners; schedule and direct work.
• Review sales and promotions; co-manage inventory and paperwork.
• Maintain sales, product quality and customer service standards.
• Enforce food safety and ensure proper dating of products.
• Assist with catering orders and labeling.
• Check truck inventory and oversee ordering paperwork.
• Promote product sales through displays and upselling.
• Greet customers and assist with questions and orders.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean environment.
