Qualifications: THIS IS AN ONSITE PHYSICIAN'S ASSISTANT ROLE.
Required Qualifications:

  1. Advanced knowledge of Occupational Health and Emergency Response
  2. Highly effective communication and people skills
  3. Problem solving and decision-making skills
  4. Experience with electronic medical records systems
  5. Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA, as well as State and Federal requirements that apply to Occupational Health Clinics
  6. Proficient in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  7. 5-10 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing/operating/R&D facility

Preferred Certification:

  1. Urine Drug Screen Collection
  2. Breath Alcohol Testing
  3. Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist
  4. NIOSH Certified to Perform Spirometry
  5. ACLS

Licenses & Certifications Required:

  1. PA Certification
  2. Active State Medical and Prescribing License for VA
  3. BLS

Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Regional Health Leader and within the general framework of the Health Services Operating Discipline and Clinical Guidelines, provide clinical care services, case management, health assessment program management and services, and general preventive health services for DuPont employees and specified contractor employees. Clinical experience with health & medical care services should include assessing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Provide standing orders for clinic operations for surveillance, emergency, and routine clinic visits.
  2. Provide medical oversight for clinic lab and clinic operations including occupational health staff.
  3. Provide medical treatment of work-related injury and illness in a caring, efficient, and professional manner.
  4. Provide occupational and non-occupational case management, including prolonged or complex illnesses/injuries or disability.
  5. Maintain medical records in accordance with established guidelines and utilize preferred electronic medical record system.
  6. Perform medical examinations and surveillance such as drug and alcohol, thermal stress, fire brigade and hazardous waste, hearing and pulmonary function tests.
  7. Administer substance abuse testing and have knowledge of DOT requirements.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  9. Communicate with employees, line management, EHS, Human Resources, and health care providers on health and fitness-for-duty issues.
  10. Assist with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty.
  11. Coordinate activities with Occupational Health, EHS, and Human Resources.
  12. Maintain current knowledge of local hazards, toxicity of materials and relevant emergency medical care.
  13. Collaborate and respond to site emergencies with the site's Emergency Response Team.
  14. Provide after-hours clinic support and call coverage. This may require the availability to return to site for emergencies and site needs.
  15. Contribute to the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
  16. Evaluate patients, review clinical records, and determine if appropriate treatment was provided.
  17. Prescribe and administer medical treatment.
  18. Collaborate with external providers for case management and other corporate business representatives for program needs.
  19. Perform testing (i.e., hearing, pulmonary function test, vision), phlebotomy, and administer vaccinations.
  20. Attend and participate on corporate teams and committees as designated.
  21. Support the Corporate Function with project work and presentations.
  22. Provide preventative health, wellness, and Employee Assistance Program guidance and support.
  23. Provide clinical oversight of the medical staff.
