Job summary

Meridian Charter Schools seeks a Temporary Special Education Coordinator to lead MTSS initiatives, coach staff, and ensure regulatory compliance across campuses in Chicago. This role reports to the Deputy Chief Education Officer and supports IEP development while promoting equity and inclusive practices.

The ideal candidate has an ISBE LBS1/ESL endorsement, a master’s in Education or related field, and at least 3 years of leadership experience in education; bilingual skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 regulations.
• Bilingual Spanish and English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach special education staff across campuses and the network office.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (IDEA, 504).
• Co-lead MTSS initiatives to improve student outcomes and teacher effectiveness.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and related services; chair IEP/504 meetings as LEA.
• Provide professional development and build a culture of equity and inclusion.
