Job summary

State of California's Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse Division seeks a Special Agent Supervisor to oversee a team of investigators in provider fraud, elder abuse, and drug diversion investigations. You will plan, assign, and direct complex cases, supervise warrants, and coordinate with prosecutors to build strong cases.

Lead and mentor agents, maintain compliance with DOJ and cross-agency standards, and provide expert testimony when required.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting complex investigations in fraud, patient abuse, or drug diversion.
• Ability to lead a team of Special Agents across multiple chains of command.
• Strong written and oral communication under pressure.
• Experience with electronic evidence collection and Medi-Cal data systems.
• Ability to coordinate with prosecutors and DOJ divisions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of Special Agents in Medi-Cal provider fraud, elder abuse and drug diversion investigations.
• Plan, assign, and direct criminal, civil, and special investigations; lead complex cases.
• Review timekeeping, ProLaw updates, investigation reports, and warrant affidavits; coordinate multi-agency efforts.
• Organize warrants, covert operations, surveillance, and liaison with prosecutors and Supervising Deputy Attorney Generals.
• Provide expert testimony and training; develop relationships with law enforcement at all levels.
