Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital seeks a Scientist or Sr. Scientist to lead a MALDI MSI-based spatial metabolomics platform in immunology.

The role oversees instrument maintenance, method development, and data analysis while collaborating across cores to integrate spatial data with transcriptomics and proteomics. Ideal candidates have extensive MSI experience, strong immunology/metabolism background, and proven ability to design powerful spatial experiments and support grant/paper

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area required.
  • Hands-on experience with MALDI imaging mass spectrometry and data analysis is essential.
  • Experience integrating spatial metabolomics with multi-omics datasets is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and oversee methods for mapping metabolites and related molecules in immune and tumor microenvironments.
  • Oversee daily MALDI/DESI imaging core operations and instrument maintenance.
  • Analyze spatial metabolomics data and integrate with multi-omics datasets to derive biological insights.
  • Collaborate with internal/external teams on study design and experimental planning.
  • Prepare manuscript and grant sections and maintain lab documentation and safety compliance.
