Job summary

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Spacecraft Electrical Power Subsystem Lead Engineer to own the EPS for the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA). You will lead a small team through integration, test, and launch activities, with collaboration across international partners and vendors.

You will oversee battery, PCDU/PCDE, high-voltage propulsion power electronics, and solar interface hardware, delivering power models,

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; 9+ years of spacecraft experience.
  • Hands-on engineer with strong electrical power system fundamentals.
  • Experience leading engineering tasks or small teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical power subsystem team through spacecraft integration, test, launch, and early operations.
  • Serve as responsible engineer for battery, power electronics, and solar interfaces.
  • Plan and execute subsystem tests and support ground test campaigns and reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with international partners.
  • Maintain EPS requirements verification status and subsystem documentation.
