Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a bold and dynamic Manager, Structures & Mechanisms to lead a team of mechanical engineers responsible for structures and mechanisms across programs. Based onsite in Webster, TX, you will drive standards, resource planning, and technical governance to ensure high-quality analysis products that meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Space Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience in aerospace structures and mechanisms for spaceflight.
• Experience scaling engineering teams in rapid-growth environments.
• Hands-on hardware lead for complex flight hardware assemblies (human rated preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers across all programs.
• Establish standards and ensure technical rigor and consistency.
• Balance priorities with program managers and leaders to manage risks and resources.
• Forecast labor, staffing, and resources for Structures & Mechanisms work.
• Define acceptance criteria and monitor quality thresholds.
• Provide SME support to projects and drive continuous improvement.
