Axiom Space seeks a bold Manager, Structures & Mechanisms, to lead a high-energy team at the Space Station Development Facility in Webster, TX. You will drive staffing, technical governance, and high-quality analysis for current and future programs.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in aerospace structures, hands-on flight hardware leadership, and proven ability to scale engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. On-site role with export control considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical design for aerospace structures and mechanisms.
• Experience scaling engineering teams in rapid-growth environments.
• Hands-on hardware lead for complex flight hardware.
• Experience taking hardware from concept to flight delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers across programs.
• Establish standards to ensure technical rigor and consistency.
• Balance priorities with program managers and leaders.
• Maintain labor forecasts and resource estimates.
• Define acceptance criteria and quality thresholds.
• Provide SME input on projects and governance.
• Track productivity, staffing, and process maturity.
• Develop long-term technical capabilities and knowledge sharing.
• Foster career growth and progression for staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
