Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS Technologies, Inc. seeks a Principal Space Solar Electrical Engineer to define electrical architectures for space PV systems and lead radiation degradation research.

You will own interconnect strategies, module design, and interface with spacecraft EPS, mentoring junior engineers as the program expands. The role requires deep PV device expertise, hands-on interconnection experience, and the ability to translate cell behavior into spacecraft power architecture within a dynamic R&D

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, materials science (Ph.D. preferred).
• 10+ years of hands-on R&D with PV devices, solar cells, or semiconductor device characterization.
• Proven technical leadership as an individual contributor; mentored junior engineers.
• Deep proficiency in PV device characterization: I-V measurement, spectral response, QE, EL/PL imaging.
• Hands-on experience with cell interconnection processes in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the module-level electrical architecture for space solar panels.
• Lead technology selection and trade studies for interconnect approaches.
• Develop the complete electrical design package and interface standards.
• Define electrical interface between solar panels and spacecraft EPS; manage power budget framework.
• Lead degradation research, post-irradiation characterization, and publish findings.
